Starting next week, the editors at Sartorial Scholars will be doing a roundup of each of our personal interpretations of Menswear Monday. Who says you have to be a guy to get into menswear? To kick things off, though, we’ve asked our colleague, Cyrus Hampton, to share one of his favorite #MenswearMonday looks.

Shirt is a navy geo-print flannel from Forever 21, tan vintage jacket from Value Village in DC, Aston Gray shoes in chestnut, gray chinos from Urban Outfitters, and brown belt from Target.

Cyrus has never been one to shy away from mixing textures and patterns. Here’s a close up of the jacket and flannel combo.

Cyrus Hampton is a PhD Candidate in the Department of English at The Ohio State University. He teaches African American Literature. When he is not teaching or conducting research for his dissertation on black science fiction and post-modern literature, he is keeping us all abreast of the latest ridiculously hilarious SubReddit forums, dancing at Heatwave and Damn Girl, and/or perfecting his kielbasa stew recipe.
